Life’s like that

A couple of days ago, in an e-mail to a friend, I said I was awaiting galleys, which—based on anecdotes of other Aphrodisia authors—were estimated to follow 3 weeks after copyedits; since my novella copyedits were done mid-October, I’d been keeping an eye out for galleys since last week. Then I added that now that I’d written that in my e-mail, my galleys were bound to arrive by next week, if not within the next few days. Sure enough, early this morning I received the page proofs for my Berkley novel, Enticed, and later this afternoon those for my Kensington novella, “Call of the Wild.” It looks like the novella proofs were sent out shortly after I wrote that e-mail. I tell you, some days it feels like the Universe takes hints . . . and doesn’t necessarily appreciate it!
